TE Connectivity Introduces AMP CO Ultra Cabling Solution

KESSEL- LO, Belgium - Jan. 12, 2012 - TE Connectivity has introduced AMP CO Ultra (AMP Communications Outlet), an enhanced version of the AMP CO cabling system. With more than 12 million AMP CO inserts deployed globally, AMP CO Ultra builds on this success with a high-performing cabling solution that takes advantage of sheath-sharing technology to support multiple applications in one single cabling system. Its unique design delivers a robust and agile physical infrastructure to support current and future business requirements, meeting Cat 6A and Cat 7A performance standards based on the ISO/IEC 11801 - 2008 specification.
"Customers have the right to choose whatever application meets best their business needs, whenever they want to and without having to replace their existing infrastructure", commented Luca Rozzoni RCDD, business line manager for LAN solutions at TE Enterprise Networks.
The key component of the AMP CO Ultra System is the advanced edge connector which is installed at both the patch panel within the telecom room and at the outlet workstation. This provides an open connector interface that is able to accommodate different inserts according to the application required, whether Ethernet, IP telephony, ISDN, audio, video or CATV.
Rozzoni continued: "Now, with TE's AMP CO Ultra System, we have improved its mechanical design to offer a seamless installation which yields 50 percent reduction in time with a simplified design with fewer components". AMP CO Ultra's outstanding design provides the ability to change the outlet inserts so that connector interface and performance level can be upgraded when required with virtually no system interruption.
Rozzoni added: "This is a significant component of TE Connectivity's Enterprise Networks solutions. It allows end-users to maximise their investment with a modular and future-proof cabling infrastructure able to support all services with bandwidth requirements ranging from 1Gb/s to 10Gb/s or even 40Gb/s".
